fortiss is the research institute of the Free State of Bavaria for software-intensive systems and services with headquarters in Munich. The institute currently employs around 140 employees, who collaborate on research, development and transfer projects with universities and technology companies in Bavaria, Germany and Europe. Research is focused on state of the art methods, techniques and tools of software development, systems & service engineering and their application to reliable, secure cyber-physical systems, such as the Internet of Things (IoT). fortiss has the legal structure of a non-profit limited liability company (GmbH). Software Developer for setting up Energy Lab (m/f/d)

As part of fortiss labs, we are working on setting up new demonstrators and enhance existing demonstrators in our Energy living lab. In this project, we search for a new team member:

Your tasks:
  • Development of prototypes and demonstrators using standard programming languages like Java, Python and Javascript
  • Basic UI development (HTML,CSS, JavaScript)
  • Writing code for microcontrollers/SOC computers like Raspberry Pi
  • Assist in setting up demonstrators at our lab
  • Scientific work and documentation
Your profile:
  • Completed/ currently enrolled Bachelor's degree or a Master’s degree in computer science, information systems or similar
  • Practical experience in programming languages such as Java, python, c++
  • Familiarity with standard protocols like REST API
  • Familiarity/experience with frontend (HTML,JavaScript, css etc.)
  • Knowledge about GIT
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi and Arduino (preferable)
  • Interest in energy-related topics
  • Excellent communication skills in English, basic skills in German is a plus
