fortiss is the research institute of the Free State of Bavaria for the development of software-intensive systems with headquarters in Munich. Scientists (m/w/d) – Model-based Engineering of Automotive Systems
Your tasks:
  • Conduct pioneering research on analysing and optimizing automotive system architectures to solve the upcoming challenges in engineering more flexible and autonomous cars.
  • Solve technical challenges in leveraging agile development approaches for the engineering of safety critical automotive functions.
  • Support ongoing and upcoming national and international research projects regarding application-oriented research, software development, scientific dissemination and technology transfer.
  • Collaborate as a competent contact person with our industry partners not only in the automotive domain, but also in the aerospace, and industrial automation domain.
  • Disseminate your research results with high-quality publications in leading internationally scientific journals and conferences in the fields of Software & Systems Engineering.
Your profile:
  • Outstanding university degree (M.Sc. and/or PhD) in computer science or electrical engineering with a specialization on automotive software engineering or (model-based) systems engineering.
  • Experience with formal methods for the analysis or synthesis of models or (discrete) optimization is an advantage.
  • A research record and scientific publications in (automotive) software & systems engineering and / or relevant professional experience are an advantage.
  • Self-initiative, commitment, goal orientation and enthusiasm to produce leading results that considerably advance the state-of-the-art
  • Excellent implementation skills for creating software-based solutions that transfer research results into practically relevant application scenarios
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Very good knowledge of English and German in both spoken and written form
