fortiss is the research institute of the Free State of Bavaria for the development of software-intensive systems with headquarters in Munich. The scientists at the institute cooperate in research, development and transfer projects with universities and technology companies in Bavaria, Germany and Europe. The focus is on research into state-of-the-art methods, techniques and tools for the development of software- and AI-based technologies for dependable, secure cyber-physical systems such as the Internet of Things (IoT). fortiss is organized in the legal form of a non-profit limited liability company. Research Staff (m/f/d) – Neuromorphic Computing frontend Engineer

Your tasks:

  • In the frame of the Human Brain Project, participate in the frontend development of the Neurorobotics Platform, a novel AI and robotics simulation tool
  • Become an expert in neural networks visualization, modelling and manipulation
  • Participate in graphical user interface (Javascript) development for high end robotics and AI simulation software
  • Participate in user support and state-of-the-art continuous integration processes

Your profile:

  • An outstanding university degree in software engineering, robotics or computer graphics
  • Strong interest in Neural Networks and Deep Learning
  • Strong skills in machine learning related maths
  • Experience in software development on large code bases in Javascript/AngularJS
  • Strong knowledge in object oriented design
  • Experience in web applications, NodeJS
