Legal regulation in the financial sector has become more profound and complex. As a result, the financial sector is forced to adapt its business processes and efficiently prove their compliance. Software engineering is becoming increasingly important as a core competence.
In a current industry-funded research project, we are focusing on the question:

How can we develop software systems for business processes in the financial sector that comply with regulatory requirements in a highly scalable and verifiable manner?

Our goal is to develop a compliance model that will serve as the basis for the analysis, conception and prototypical implementation of a company-wide IT compliance management system using formal methods of knowledge representation.

To support our team, we are looking for the following person as soon as possible

Researcher (m/w/d)

Your task are:
  • Analysis and modelling of regulatory requirements and business processes, conducting expert interviews and workshops with a focus on IT compliance in the financial industry.
  •  Prototypical development of models with formal methods of knowledge representation, proof-of-concept implementation in common programming languages/frameworks and linking with business data and IT landscape

Your Profil:
  • Very good knowledge in requirements analysis, business process modelling and/ or software engineering.
  •  A (very) good degree in computer science, business informatics or related subjects
  • It is an advantage if you already have experience in the area of legal tech or in the financial industry,
  • prior knowledge in the area of description logics and the semantic web technology stack as well as agile software development of web-based applications
  • Independent working style, high level of initiative, above-average commitment, and enjoy working in a team
  • You can easily communicate with colleagues and partners in written and spoken German and English.
