AUTOMATIC PROCESSING OF USER INTERACTION DATA (M/F/D)

fortiss is the research institute of the Free State of Bavaria for software-intensive systems and services with headquarters in Munich. The institute currently employs around 180 employees, who collaborate on research, development and transfer projects with universities and technology companies in Bavaria, Germany and Europe. Research is focused on state of the art methods, techniques and tools of software development, systems & service engineering and their application to reliable, secure cyber-physical systems, such as the Internet of Things (IoT). fortiss has the legal structure of a non-profit limited liability company (GmbH). Usability is an important factor in the development of open source software (OSS). The challenges regarding the evaluation of usability for OSS are for example that developers work in a distributed manner and during different working hours. In our previous work we have conducted usability studies with the Eclipse 4diac IDE, an open source framework for distributed industrial automation systems.

Your tasks:

  • Literature Review
  • Use Case development and requirements elicitation
  • Development of a data processing tool

Your profile:

  • (At least) novice programming experience
  • Ongoing studies in Computer Science/Informatics or similar
  • (Very) good German or English skills
